The State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM) is a specialized body of the central public administration with unique authority on the Romanian territory in the field of ensuring the industrial property protection (IPP) in compliance with the national legislation and with the provisions of the international conventions and treaties to which Romania is a party, the Office developing relations with other similar institutions and representing Romania within international and regional industrial property organizations to which Romania is a member, in accordance with the mandate entrusted to it..
To this effect, OSIM is competent, under organic statutes, to grant industrial property protection titles (patents, utility model certificates, registration certificates for trademarks, geographical indications, designs) valid on Romanian territory and validate European patents and international trademarks for which protection in Romania was requested under international conventions and treaties.

This report offers a detailed image of the progress we made, the difficulties we over came along the entire year and the strategies we implemented in order to provide for a sustainable and innovative development.

The State Office for Inventions and Trademarks continued, by its initiatives and activities carried out in 2023, to exert its role of unique authority on the Romanian territory in the field of ensuring the industrial property protection and encouraging innovation and competitiveness.
I would like to present here the Annual Report of OSIM activity for the year 2023. It comprises our main achievements and reflects the entire range of events and actions we carried out last year.
